| | | March 10, 2006 > Ukrainian economic adviser to speak Ukrainian economic adviser to speak  By Neil Schoenherr Boris Nemtsov, economic adviser to Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, will speak on liberal politics and market reforms in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States during a free lecture sponsored by the Russian Club at 4:30 p.m. March 22 in Graham Chapel. In 1991, Nemtsov was appointed governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia. He was elected to the Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian parliament, in 1993. In 1997, he was appointed first deputy prime minister of Russia, with special responsibility to reform the energy sector. He actively supported the Ukrainian Orange Revolution in November-December 2004, and, following its victory, was appointed as economic adviser to Yushchenko.
