| | | April 22, 2005 > Poet C.K. Williams to read from his work today Poet C.K. Williams to read from his work today  Acclaimed poet C.K. Williams will read from his work at 4 p.m. today as part of the Writing Program Spring Reading Series.
The reading is free and open to the public and will take place in Hurst Lounge, Duncker Hall, Room 201. A reception and book-signing will follow, and copies of Williams' books will be available for purchase. Williams is the author of numerous books of poetry, including The Singing (2003), winner of the National Book Award; Repair (1999), winner of the 2000 Pulitzer Prize; The Vigil (1997); A Dream of Mind (1992); and Flesh and Blood (1987), winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award. Williams also has published five works of translation, including Selected Poems of Francis Ponge (1994); Canvas, by Adam Zagajewski (with Renata Gorczynski and Benjamin Ivry, 1991); The Bacchae of Euripides (1990); and The Lark. The Thrush. The Starling. (Poems from Issa) (1983). Williams' many honors include an American Academy of Arts and Letters Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest Award, the PEN/Voelcker Award for Poetry and a Pushcart Prize.
