| | | March 19, 2004 > Khrushchev to lecture March 22 Khrushchev to lecture March 22  By Neil Schoenherr Sergei Khrushchev, a world-renowned speaker in international studies and son of the late Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev, will present a talk titled "Cuban Missile Crisis: The Russian Perspective" at 4 p.m. March 22 in Graham Chapel. Khrushchev writes extensively about the history of the Cold War and the turning points in the relationship between the United States and the Soviet Union in the Khrushchev, Eisenhower and Kennedy periods. In addition, his research focuses on the former Soviet Union's transition from a centralized to a decentralized society, as well as its transformation from a central to a market economy and its international security during this transition. Khrushchev has authored several books, including Khrushchev on Khrushchev; Nikita Khrushchev: Crisis and Missiles; The Political Economy of Russian Fragmentation; and Three Circles of Russian Market Reforms. His latest book, Nikita Khrushchev and Creation of a Superpower, was released in spring 2000. He is serving as a senior fellow at the Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University.
