A good book, a great setting

Barbara Baumgartner, Ph.D., associate director and senior lecturer in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies (top, center), chats outside the Danforth University Center Aug. 25 with a group of freshmen about Elizabeth Kolbert's book, Field Notes From a Catastrophe: Man, Nature, and Climate Change. All incoming freshmen read the book as part of this year's Freshman Reading Program. The discussion was one of many held on the Danforth Campus and themes from book will be the focus of other events and lectures throughout the academic year.
