Not your typical politics class

Students took advantage of a rare opportunity to discuss politics with a couple who moves in some of its highest circles. On Nov. 3, Mary Matalin and James Carville stopped by May Auditorium to meet informally with students and comment on the current state of American politics. Matalin, most recently the Republican adviser to Vice President Dick Cheney, and husband Carville, former President Bill Clinton's chief political strategist, were in town to deliver the keynote address for Washington University's Founders Day celebration later that evening. Both events were sponsored by WUSTL's Alumni Association.
