Prostate cancer screening tests don't appear to reduce deaths from the disease among those with a limited life expectancy, a new study shows.

The Jane and Whitney Harris St. Louis Community Service Award are given annually to a husband and wife dedicated to improving the St. Louis region through service, generosity and leadership. On Feb. 26, Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton bestowed the 10th Harris award on Barbara and Andrew Taylor.

WUSTL engineer devises ways to improve gas mileage

In the summer of 2008, it became very expensive to fill up a gas tank when gasoline prices hit close to $4 per gallon. A WUSTL engineer has come up with a solution to help.

80th annual fashion show caps Saint Louis Fashion Week

Fashion is fun, challenging, inspiring and everywhere. It is also hard work. On Sunday, March 29, 11 seniors and seven juniors from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts — home to the nation's oldest four-year fashion design program — will present the fruit of their labors in the school's 80th Annual Fashion Design Show Sunday.

The annual Thurtene Road Race, which raises both money for charity and awareness of Thurtene Carnival, will be held at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, March 29, at Francis Field.

Mary Jo Bang worked as an anti-Vietnam War organizer, a physician assistant and as a commercial photographer, but what she really wanted to do was to be a writer. Today she is a critically acclaimed poet and well-respected professor of English.
