The Take Back the Night march Oct. 21 was part of a national campaign to call attention to issues of rape, sexual assault and sexual violence.

He was a former professor of architecture who formed the University's Urban Renewal Design Center in the mid-1960s.

And winning a St. Louis interiors awards was the University's Small Group Housing, designed by local firm Mackey Mitchell Associates.

Obituary: Schneider, former University Police director

He joined the University in 1969 as director of security and campus chief of police; he retired in 1993.
