Thomas F. Eagleton, former U.S. senator and WUSTL professor of public affairs, dies at 77

Thomas F. Eagleton, who joined the faculty after serving nearly two decades in the U.S. Senate, died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond Heights, Mo. He was 77 years old.

A decade of bringing together faculty and students

The Faculty Associates program is celebrating 10 years of connecting faculty members with students living on the South 40. The program, sponsored by the Office of Residential Life, started during the 1996-97 academic year in response to the realization that there was a growing gap between faculty members and undergraduate students.

Area expanded for Employer Assisted Housing Program

The University program to help qualified employees secure housing in areas near the University through forgivable mortgage loans has been extended for 10 years, with some modifications.

Despite a low temperature that reached 19 degrees, the annual Relay For Life all-night walk around Bushyhead Track at Francis Field drew more than 2,000 participants March 3 to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Record hiatus & daylight-saving time

The Record will not publish during next week's spring break. The next Record Monday e-mail will arrive March 19. Additionally, daylight-saving time begins at 2 a.m. March 11.

Register for fall Mini Med classes

Registration is now open for the spring session of Mini Medical School, which begins the week of March 19 at the Eric P. Newman Education Center.

Piano sale benefits music

Pianos from the Department of Music in Arts & Sciences are on sale via private appointment and at a public sale from noon-5 p.m. March 18 in Blewett Hall.

I-64/US40 construction updated on Web

The University has added a link to its Web page for easy access to the latest information on the Interstate 64/Highway 40 construction project.
