Schael induction

Surprise for John Schael


The University's Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2006 now boasts a 10th member: Director of Athletics John Schael (at lectern). Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton made the surprise announcement near the end of the induction ceremony for nine former student-athletes Jan. 26 in the Charles F. Knight Executive Education Center.

Super Bowl ad contest includes WUSTL team

A group of three students is among the five final teams competing in the Chevy Super Bowl College Ad Challenge. The winning team will be announced Feb. 2, with their ad airing during the big game Feb. 4.

Lung disease research aided by grant

School of Medicine researchers receive nearly $15 million to study how genes, viruses and cigarettes contribute to chronic lung diseases such as emphysema.

Wang receives Beare professorship

Lihong Wang, Ph.D., became the first Gene K. Beare Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering in a Nov. 29 ceremony.

Grounds for Change facilitates dialogue with a conscience

Social work students launch Grounds for Change, a new gathering place that promotes ecological and green living and fosters dialogue between students, faculty and staff.

WIlliam H. Danforth and James E. McLeod received the honor for a lifetime of service to the community, efforts that have had impact far beyond the immediate circumstance and service without striving for personal gain.

New system stores health records online

The program allows individuals to organize, store and retrieve personal health information for themselves and their family members using a secure Web-based program.
