Winning streak at 57

It's three and counting for the women's basketball team as the Bears pushed their winning streak to 57 games with UAA wins over NYU (70-47) Friday and Brandeis University (61-42) Sunday in the Field House. The Bears' 57-game winning streak is just three victories shy of the NCAA women's all-divisions record of 60 consecutive wins held by Division III Capital University. The Bears can tie the record this Sunday, Feb. 13, at home against the University of Rochester at 3 p.m. Against NYU, senior All-America center Alia Fischer finished with a game-high 18 points and added six rebounds, a game-high three blocks and a game-high four steals. Junior Tasha Rodgers finished with 14 points. In the Brandeis game, Fischer again led all scorers with 22 points and added nine rebounds and five steals. Rodgers tallied 13 points, and Lindsey Merrill had nine points and five rebounds.
