The artist's rendering above shows how an open-cut, below-grade MetroLink line might look in the vicinity of Brookings Hall on the Hilltop Campus. The perspective of this artist's conception is from the north side of Millbrook Boulevard looking southwest. The traffic light on the right side of the rendering is at the intersection of Millbrook and Hoyt Drive. Hoyt Drive would cross over the proposed MetroLink line on a bridge. The rows of trees are part of Washington University's plan to beautify the northern boundary of the campus with landscaping improvements along the proposed route. This artist's conception -- from the north side of Millbrook Boulevard looking southwest -- shows the intersection of Millbrook and Throop Drive. At the Throop-Millbrook intersection, the proposed MetroLink line would pass under Throop. On the far left is the Millbrook Boulevard parking garage, and the building in the background is Anheuser-Busch Hall, new home of the School of Law. Through the strategic use of trees, shrubs and other landscaping, the visible presence of the MetroLink line and any protective fencing would be minimized.
