The following incidents were reported to University Police from Sept. 17-24. Readers with information that could assist in investigating these incidents are urged to call 935-5555. This release is provided as a public service to promote safety awareness and is available on the University Police Web site.



Sept. 17

4:53 p.m. -- A student reported that he parked and secured his vehicle on the third level of Wohl Parking Garage. Upon his return, he found an unknown person had broken into his vehicle, damaging it and stealing his property. Total loss is estimated at $520.

Sept. 18

1:15 p.m. -- A person reported that an unknown person pried open the window of their car, which was parked in Wohl Parking Garage. The unknown person then stole the stereo from the car.

Sept. 23

1:10 p.m. -- A contractor for the University reported that between 12:30 p.m. Sept. 20 and 9 a.m. Sept. 23, an unknown person tampered with the ignition switch on a piece of machinery that was parked on the grass in front of the Sigma Nu fraternity house. Total damage is unknown at this time.

6 p.m. -- A student reported that an unknown person took her Samsung cellular phone from the Kappa Kappa Gamma suite located in the Women’s Building. Total loss is estimated at $200.

Additionally, University Police responded to four reports of larceny, two auto accidents and one report each of disturbing the peace, telephone harassment, burglary and judicial violation.
