Ceramics students at Bixby Hall
The School of Fine Arts moved from its downtown Locust Street location to what had been the British Pavilion in the 1904 World's Fair. In 1927, the school moved to its current location in Bixby Hall (above). A bachelor's degree in fine art was first offered in 1941, nearly 66 years after the school opened. Seven degrees are offered by what is now known as the School of Art, from ceramics -- which these students from the 1950s are studying -- to photography.
