The goal of the event is to help families understand mental health problems. Four seminars will be held throughout the day: "Mental Illness: What Is It and What It Is Not," "The Brain: Source of Illness," "Available Treatments" and "Ask the Doctor." There will also be a lunch discussion covering the participants' choice of topics.

The event costs $15 to attend, $35 for mental health-care providers. Attendees may register in advance or at the event. Scholarships are available.
